When Randy and Julie met Dave and Sally
In 1998 Dave and Sally contacted Randy and Julie about acquiring a show dog. After several meetings we became fast friends and purchased our first show dog. Our first champion was Tudie (Ch. Benchmark P is for Pulchritude) and we soon became interested in co-breeding a litter. At this time we started SmokeTree Goldens and bred our first litter, the Dr. Seuss litter, which produced our first Champion SmokeTrees Horton Hears A Who.

Realizing that the majority of Goldens go to pet homes, we strive to maintain the wonderful "Golden" temperament which attracted us all to the breed. We feel that the health of the dogs is extremely important and spend hours researching pedigrees to find some of the best representatives of the breed.
Dave and Sally Maryatt -- Dave and Sally have endless love and compassion for Golden Retrievers. Their first Goldens Bozer and Prunella, lived to be over sixteen years old. They purchased both of them from Carole Johnson of Alderbrooke Goldens.

When prospective owners come to buy a dog or puppy, they can expect to spend hours answering questions and interacting with the dogs so that they will match up with just the right friend.

We are so happy to have Rich Larricq join us here at SmokeTree Golden Retrievers. He’s been an avid lover of Golden Retrievers since his first Golden, Chuck, who lived as his constant companion for seventeen years.

Rich is a life-long contractor and is responsible for the design and Construction of SmokeTree kennels. He is now the  head groomer and also oversees the exercise program for the dogs.

Rich’s family raised Newfoundlands back in the 1970’s and he brings a variety of skills he learned as a youngster.
